Made by a Hilo family
Started by a mother and daughter.
Ānuenue was built by Mohala and her daughter Asia, born and raised with deep roots in Hilo. Their first place was Mo’s Fish and Chips, a little spot that quietly turned into somewhere the whole neighborhood gathered.
This is the next chapter, and a thank you. A way to give back to the community that showed up for them, and to build a room where everyone belongs. Whether your schedule is full, your family is growing, or you are a visitor just discovering Hilo, you will find a little piece of home here.
The room

Sink into a velvet chair with a book. Spread out at the bench for a small meeting. Gather a few friends, or take a quiet table for one. Nothing here rushes you along.
It is casual on purpose. The kind of place where a coffee run turns into an hour, and you are glad it did.

The guava syrup, the brown sugar vanilla, the sauces. We make them right here, so your matcha and coffee taste like nowhere else.

The goods on our shelves come from island makers we love. House-made syrups, prints, and crafts that change as often as they do.

Casual seating for a small meeting, a club that gathers weekly, or a catch-up over coffee. Come as two, come as ten.

We share the counter with the people who make this town. Prints and crafts, clothing we love, and the house-made syrups behind your drink. When you shop a shelf here, it stays close to home.

A rainbow does not ask who belongs beneath it. Neither do we. Whether you live down the road or you are just passing through Hilo, you have a seat.
